Go APE in one of the world’s wildest places

APE programmes are broadly focused Borneoon the conservation of the orangutans of Malaysia, through orangutan welfare and conservation programmes. There is also an emphasis on endangered animals in Malaysia including the sun bear, pygmy elephant and sea turtle. All this conservation and education work is entirely funded by volunteer contributions and coordinated by our exceptional programme coordinators.

What will you do?

During your Borneo Marketing Internship, you will help the APE team with their website (content creation), social media and newsletter. You will receive training and a full induction after your arrival in Kuala Lumpur, where the APE offices are based. After approx. one month, you will head over to Sabah in East Malaysia (Borneo) where you will be immersed in APE’s amazing conservation programmes including reforesting parts of the famous orangutan habitat on the shores of the Kinabatangan river. Another signature programme is the welfare and enrichment of the Borneo sun bear. You will stay in Borneo for one whole month and then head back to the KL office to complete your marketing campaigns. See the sights of Kuala Lumpur whilst based at our marketing intern accommodation. Develop both marketing and conservation skills to enhance your CV plus enjoy a wealth of additional benefits during your marketing internship

Barbara is the Founder of the SustanainableMarketing.Academy. She is a lifelong professional marketer who teaches at Cambridge Marketing College. She is also an official tutor and examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Her passion for nature and wildlife led to the creation of this online learning hub. So that anyone with an interest in conservation and sustainability can get the communication skills to make a positive impact on the environment.

The price does not cover flight tickets to and from Malaysia, local transport to and from APE offices, personal travel insurance including medical cover, visa and vaccinations costs, food and drinks, and personal travel around Malaysia.
